The Field Technical Support Specialist position is a challenging and rewarding role which presents the opportunity to engage with Tesla’s installation and engineering staff daily. The Field Technical Support Specialist is responsible for communications between installers and design teams, as well as supporting authorized contractors. This includes answering phone calls and/or responding to emails and explaining energy product installation process, designs, and basic engineering aspects of projects. This person should have strong phone, writing, follow up, and problem-solving skills and should be results-oriented to deliver the customers’ expectations. Field Technical Support Specialist candidates should have open schedule availability to accommodate operations 7 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to authorized Tesla Installers for maintenance of Tesla energy products
  • Provide technical support to Tesla Installers
  • Answer incoming customer calls and proactively reaching out to install teams
  • Document and communicate changes that occur during installation
  • Troubleshoot all energy products including but not limited to inverters, Powerwalls, and EV Chargers
  • Discuss system performance issues and concerns with installers
  • Communicate with Operations management and field operations to coordinate site visits

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Technical Support position

  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately, and concisely and to non-technical audience/customers

  • Technical knowledge of Solar preferred

  • Computer networking knowledge preferred

  • Spanish fluency is a plus
