Job Description

Are you ready to be part of something epic? Sutherland is hiring professionals to provide Technical Support and Customer Service for one of the world's largest gaming platforms while working from your remote or home office!
 
This is a part-time position. Part-time hours typically range between 20-29 hours a week but can flex to as low as 10 hours during low call volume periods. Opportunities to flex up to over 30 hours will be available during high call volume periods. There is a performance-based incentive bonus, that you may earn up to an additional $4 per hour during the month earned, in addition to the hourly rate, after the successful completion of training, nesting, and your first month of production.

This is the job for you if:
  • You are an experienced gamer and/or have a background in gaming technical support

  • You are an early adopter: the first of your friends to buy the latest gaming platform
  • You are the "Go-To" person who helps others get the most out of their systems
  • You are technically savvy and understand Routers/Streaming Video/Web Applications
  • You can handle multiple call types, i.e. billing issues, internet connectivity with the gaming console, and hardware technical support
We’ll give you the opportunity to showcase your superior customer support and troubleshooting skills while developing your expertise in all aspects of the gaming platform. We’re looking for dynamic, outside-the-box thinkers with the individual initiative to do everything possible to ensure that every customer is beyond satisfied.

Note: These positions are 100% work from home and are only available to residents of the contiguous United States.

Qualifications

Our most successful candidates have:
  • passion for the customer and the customer’s experience
  • the ability to recognize and respond to customer needs and demonstrate a sincere commitment to resolving those needs
  • the self-discipline and independence to work remotely from home
  • familiarity with social networking (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
  • familiarity with the gaming environment and the modern gaming consoles
  • a demonstrated ability to perform at a high level, with a strong aptitude to adjust to change
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient reading skills to analyze, interpret and address customer needs
  • the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including offline or special project work
  • flexibility to work additional hours, if needed
  • basic experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • a minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a contact center environment
  • minimum keyboard skills of 35 WPM (verified with typing test during the application process)
  • a High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Home Office Requirements:

 
Working from home is easiest when you are equipped with everything that you need! You must have:
  • A 20-inch computer monitor
  • Sutherland will provide a ThinClient PC with VOIP technology.
A headset that is/has:
  • USB
  • Dual-ear
  • Noise-canceling microphone
*Preferred: Plantronics AUDIO 478, Logitech USB H570e, Jabra UC Voice 150, or Microsoft Life Chat LX-6000 for Business

Excellent Internet connectivity:
  • Internet speeds of 5 Mbps upload and 7 Mbps download – the faster the better!
  • Wireless and/or satellite Internet Service Providers are not compatible with our systems.

  • In-house network and a hard-wired Internet connection capable of continuously supporting outstanding call quality and high-speed response rates.

Training and Work Schedule

For the May 30, 2018 class, training will be held Wednesday – Sunday from 2:30 pm ET – 11:00 pm ET through July 11, 2018. Training is 100% mandatory and we offer a bonus to consultants with perfect attendance in training, nesting, and their first 30 days of production.
 
We are looking for consultants to work Wednesday – Sunday with every Monday and Tuesday off. You must select a shift window of availability. Your start and stop time each day will always fall within your window of availability. 

You can choose between:

2:00 pm ET – 10:00 pm ET Wednesday – Friday and 1:00 pm ET – 9:00 pm ET on Saturday and Sunday.  


4:00 pm ET – 12:00 am ET Wednesday – Friday and 1:00 pm ET – 9:00 pm ET on Saturday and Sunday.

 
Holiday Schedule Requirements:

During the holiday season, consultants are scheduled and expected to work during peak call periods. Consultants will not be approved to take time off, outside of their scheduled two days off each week. Those time periods are the first week in November, the week of and the week after Thanksgiving, and then mid-December through the first week in January. Consultants will be required to work Christmas Day (12/25) and the day after Christmas (12/26). 

While this position is part-time, during the period of December 24 – December 30, consultants will be scheduled for 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime.
